Is this program new?
After many years of research and piloting programs for education, 1stHour created this cost-free parent newsletter program which has been supporting education for the past four years. With over 100 school districts participating, representing over 2.5 million students, 1stHour created a program that protects both students and schools while focusing on informing and engaging parents, improving student success and saving money.

Who can participate in the program?
Currently, our education partners have 7,500 or more students and 1stHour is working hard to bring communication solutions to smaller districts.

What is included in the program?
1stHour will print and distribute your 4-color school newsletter 4 times each year at absolutely no cost. Our program reaches parents in the following months: August, November, March and June.

What is required of the education partner?
There are 3 components to this program: An envelope, a mailing list, and a newsletter. We'll type set your envelope with your school district logo and return address. Your envelopes will be addressed to Parent/Guardian or another title of your choice (i.e. “Friends of Northern School District”). You also provide a database of addresses (no names) to be used solely for your program. Finally, you simply provide a camera-ready hi‐resolution PDF newsletter for each program that 1stHour will print and distribute for you.
Note: An online publishing solution is available to smaller districts that need creative support.

How can we accommodate Spanish speaking families?
Many of our partners split their newsletter in half to include both English and Spanish versions within one newsletter.

How much does it cost us to participate?
Not only is the program executed at no cost to the education partner, we actually generate revenue for larger districts through inserts in each packet from our corporate sponsors.

How do we know what corporate sponsors are including inserts in each packet?
You have the opportunity to approve each category and decline any corporate insert that you find objectionable. 1stHour ensures that all sponsors are family‐friendly partners with appropriate messages directed at parents.

How can we participate?
Simply contact 1stHour and we will introduce ourselves and walk you through the program. We will provide you with samples for review, an agreement form, and guideline sheet to help explain the process.
